Egypt's Minister of Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din met with the Armenian Ambassador in Cairo to discuss opportunities for collaboration in military and civilian manufacturing, as per a Cabinet statement on Thursday. Salah El-Din also emphasised the strong and historically rooted relations between Egypt and Armenia, which have seen significant progress recently, supported by the political leadership of both countries. This was evident in President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Armenia in January 2023 and the Armenian Prime Minister's visit to Egypt last March to discuss bilateral cooperation across various fields. During the meeting, Salah El-Din outlined the ministry's capabilities in military manufacturing, stressing that its primary role is to meet the needs of the armed forces and police for weapons, equipment, and ammunition. He added that the surplus production capacity of the ministry's affiliates is utilised to manufacture high-quality civilian products at competitive prices, contributing to national and developmental projects. He explained that the ministry's strategy is based on openness and collaboration with global companies in similar fields to acquire and localise the latest manufacturing technologies within its companies and units.
