Egypt's presidential health initiative serves 57m women since '19

Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population announced that 57,780,622 women have received medical services offered through the Egyptian Women's Health presidential initiative, since its launch in July 2019 until February 2025.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry's spokesperson, stated that there was a total of 22,517,500 first-time visits, 22,769,790 regular visits, and 12,493,331 occasional visits, according to an official statement from the Cabinet on Sunday.
Abdel Ghaffar emphasised that the initiative aligns with international breast cancer treatment protocols. It will be implemented in 14 Ministry of Health and Population centres and 14 Supreme Council of University Hospitals centres, providing free treatment.
The initiative targets women aged 18 and above, focusing on early detection and examinations for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) while also addressing reproductive health and family planning awareness.
