21 million women examined within "100 Million Health" initiative
Egypt launches initiative for early detection of diseases transmitted from mother to fetus

Egypt's Ministry of Health and Population announced on Wednesday that about 20.83 million women were examined as part of President's Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi's initiative "100 Million Health" to support the health of the Egyptian women, since its launch in July 2019.
The initiative includes examination and raising awareness of public health concern for women starting from the age of 18 years, free of charge.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Health Ministry, explained the importance of constant communication and periodic follow-up for women to benefit from the services provided by the initiative.
He noted that about 1.5 million text messages were sent to mobile phones to urge them to continue to monitor their health condition within the initiative periodically, in addition to receiving 117,486 calls to the hotline "15335" to receive inquiries about the initiative.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Morsi, the executive director of the initiative, said that the latest global treatment protocols for breast cancer treatment were provided within the initiative, through 14 centers affiliated with the Ministry of Health, in addition to activating these protocols in 13 new hospitals affiliated with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals.
He pointed out that the initiative is sustainable and includes detection of non-communicable diseases (diabetes, blood pressure, weight and height measurements, body mass index determination, and the level of obesity or overweight), awareness of the risk factors that cause noncommunicable diseases, in addition to awareness of reproductive health and family planning, and awareness breast self-examination method.
