Indonesia will impose an anti-dumping import duty on nylon film from China, Thailand, and Taiwan starting this month for the next four years, as per a finance ministry regulation published on Wednesday. The ministry identified companies from China, Thailand, and Taiwan that will be subject to the import duty, which will vary from 1,254 rupiah to 31,510 rupiah ($0.076-$1.92) per kg. The companies affected by the new regulation are China's Kunshan Yuncheng Plastic Industry and Yuncheng Heshan New Material, as well as Thailand's AJ Plast, among others in both countries. The duty will be imposed on all companies in Taiwan, as stated in the regulation. Following an investigation by Indonesia's anti-dumping committee, duties were imposed on products from these companies for causing losses in local industries. China is Indonesia's top trading partner, and nylon is utilised in various industries such as food packaging, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and textiles. Attribution: Reuters Subediting: M. S. Salama
