Egypt's Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk stressed the positive impact of the Egyptian-Bahraini Joint Governmental Committee meetings, emphasising the need to increase investment and trade, as per a Cabinet statement. He described discussions at the committee's second meeting as "positive and constructive," paving the way for deeper cooperation that enhances both countries' economic competitiveness, according to the statement. Kouchouk stressed that the private sector is the key driver of bilateral cooperation, adding that Egypt plans to host an economic forum to explore investment opportunities between Egyptian and Bahraini business communities. He expressed the intention to strengthen collaboration in financial policies and reforms to promote stability and sustainable economic growth. This includes sharing expertise in public finance management, reducing public debt, and improving spending efficiency.
