Egypt's Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat met with the Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Fadel Al-Ibrahim to strengthen the bilateral relations in various fields, as per a Cabinet statement. This came during Al-Mashat's participation in the AlUla Conference for Emerging Market Economies, organised by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Al-Mashat emphasised the significance of the Emerging Market Economies Conference and its relevance to the challenges faced by these countries amid global crises and regional tensions, the statement added. Discussions also focused on joint efforts to achieve sustainable development goals at the national level. Al-Mashat emphasised the significance of attracting financing to support the budget and facilitate the implementation of structural reforms. She emphasised the need for ongoing reform to adapt to economic changes, create opportunities for the private sector, boost competitiveness, improve the business environment, maintain stability, promote a green economy, and foster sustainable development. Al-Mashat discussed ways to strengthen South-South and trilateral cooperation to harness the potential of developing countries for innovative development solutions and learn from successful practices. She highlighted the ministry's initiatives to introduce the South-South and trilateral cooperation strategy at the New Development Bank (NDB) inaugural meeting in Egypt, the statement added This strategy aims to enhance the sharing of successful development practices among developing and emerging nations and facilitate the exchange of expertise and technology, as stated in the statement.
