Egypt's Minister of Housing Sherif El-Sherbiny stressed the importance of prioritising locally manufactured materials in urban projects, aligning with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to support domestic industry, a Cabinet statement said. Sherbiny conducted a comprehensive meeting on Monday with the deputy and assistants of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), as well as heads of new city councils, to monitor the progress of the authority and its entities. El-Sharbiny urged city council heads to establish a governance management team in each council to drive digital transformation. He emphasised the importance of inspecting projects to ensure effective implementation. The meeting also covered plans to expand the Your Home in Egypt initiative for expatriates, ensuring timely hand over of housing units. Additionally, the minister reviewed the status of 100,000 housing units under the Housing for All Egyptians presidential initiative, reaffirming the commitment to timely execution.
