Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi emphasised the need for all parties to act responsibly to uphold the ceasefire, warning that the continuation and expansion of the conflict would harm all sides without exception. He reiterated that the establishment of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only guarantee for lasting peace. During his meeting in Cairo with Ronald Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress, President Sisi also underscored the importance of initiating Gaza's reconstruction while ensuring that its residents are not displaced. He noted that Egypt is preparing a comprehensive plan in this regard. For his part, Lauder expressed interest in the Egyptian-Arab proposal on Gaza, affirming that peace is the ultimate goal and must be achieved through a two-state solution. He also highlighted the significance of Egypt-US relations for regional stability and reaffirmed the World Jewish Congress's support for all efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability in the region.
