Gold prices increased on Thursday due to a declining US dollar and concerns about President Trump's tariff proposals, which may escalate global trade tensions. Investors also awaited upcoming inflation data. Spot gold prices increased at 12:45 AM GMT by 0.53 per cent to $2,919.55 per ounce, compared to the previous closing price of $2,904.24.
