Egyptian construction giant, Arab Contractors has been awarded a major housing project in Equatorial Guinea. The official mandate followed a meeting between Egypt's Minister of Housing, Sherif El-Sherbiny and Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Public Works, Housing and Urban Planning, Clemente Ferreiro Villarino in Malabo on Monday. Under the mandate, Arab Contractors will manage the development of 100,000 new homes as part of Equatorial Guinea's national housing programme, with direct oversight by Egypt's Ministry of Housing. Minister El-Sherbiny highlighted Arab Contractors' strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Africa, particularly in Equatorial Guinea, where the company has a proven track record in infrastructure and residential development since 2003. Operating in 29 countries, Arab Contractors has already made significant contributions to Equatorial Guinea's infrastructure, including roads, residential buildings, and essential services. Its work has been instrumental in strengthening Egypt's ties with African nations, earning the company several presidential honours. Minister El-Sherbiny reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting African development through strategic partnerships, emphasising the importance of shared growth and infrastructure development across the continent. This housing project in Equatorial Guinea represents another major step in Arab Contractors' continued expansion in Africa and its contribution to sustainable development.
