Egypt and Türkiye have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral tourism relations, outlining a roadmap for cooperation and recognising the sector's role in economic development, the Egyptian Cabinet said in a statement. The agreement was signed during Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy's official visit to Ankara, where he met with Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy to discuss future collaboration in tourism and antiquities. Fathy highlighted the strong ties between Egypt and Turkey and expressed optimism about expanding cooperation in tourism, antiquities, and cultural investment. He emphasised Egypt's efforts to attract foreign investment in the hospitality sector, offering promising opportunities. As part of the visit, Fathy received 152 artefacts that had been illegally smuggled out of Egypt and later seized by Turkish authorities.
