Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 22 - 01 - 2025

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel-Aty revealed on Wednesday Cairo's plans to host the 19th session of the Joint Committee for Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Egypt within the second half of 2025.
The announcement was made during a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević in Belgrade.
Minister Abdel-Aty highlighted the significant impact of recent high-level visits between Egypt and Serbia, including the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's visit to Serbia in July 2022 and the Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's visit to Cairo in July 2024. These visits have helped foster stronger economic and trade cooperation between the two nations.
The Egyptian minister stressed the importance of regular political consultations and the continued exchange of visits to maintain momentum in the bilateral relationship.
Minister Abdel-Aty expressed his enthusiasm for the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between Egypt and Serbia in July 2024, anticipating it will significantly enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two nations in the years ahead. He also stressed the importance of holding regular meetings of the joint business council to further strengthen bilateral relations.
Additionally, the minister outlined the priority sectors for future collaboration, such as information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, food industries, renewable energy, and tourism. He noted Serbia's growing renewable energy market as an area of potential partnership and emphasized the need for continued mutual investments and possible trilateral cooperation in Africa.
