Construction production rose by 1.2 per cent in the euro area and 1.3 per cent in the EU in November 2024 compared to October, according to Eurostat. This follows growth of 0.8 per cent in the euro area and 0.6 per cent in the EU in October. On an annual basis, construction production increased by 1.4 per cent in the euro area and 0.9 per cent in the EU compared to November 2023. By sector, the euro area saw monthly increases of 0.3 per cent in building construction, 0.5 per cent in civil engineering, and 1.2 per cent in specialised construction activities. In the EU, civil engineering rose by 1.3 per cent, and specialised activities by 1.1 per cent, while building construction dropped by 0.2 per cent. Slovenia, Slovakia, and Romania recorded the highest monthly growth rates, while Portugal, Hungary, and Finland posted the largest declines.
