Egypt's Morsi Attends African Union's 50th Anniversary Summit In Ethiopia

Marking his second official visit to Ethiopia, the Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has headed on Friday, May 24th to Addis-Ababa, where he will be taking part in the Special 50th Anniversary Summit commemorating the establishment of the Organization of African Unity/African Union.
The Summit is being held under the theme ‘Pan Africanism and African Renaissance'.
“Pan-Africanism and African Renaissance", is the theme that is be holding at the center of discussions during the 21st Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), being taken place from 19 to 27 May 2013 at the headquarters of the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Summit has officially kicked off Sunday 19 May 2013, with the 26th Ordinary Session of the Permanent Representatives Committee (PRC).
The May Summit is a special Summit because it will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the Organization of African Union (OAU) now African Union (AU). The goals of the 50th Anniversary Commemorations will among other concepts, seek to promote “an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in global arena". The Anniversary will therefore facilitate and celebrate African narratives of past, present and future that will enthuse and energize the African population while using their constructive energy to accelerate a forward looking agenda of Pan-Africanism and Renaissance in the 21st century.
