Egypt's 2024/2025 budget allocated over half of its revenues to enhance salaries and pensions, raise the tax exemption limit to ease financial burdens on citizens. It also and approved six social protection packages since 2022. The Citizen Budget, usually published in August or September after House of Representatives' approval of the general budget, aims to assist citizens in dealing with inflationary challenges resulting from current global crises. A key initiative within this budget is the Decent Life national project, which focuses on the comprehensive development of essential public services, including health, education, housing, roads, drinking water, and sanitation for underdeveloped areas. Additionally, the budget supports the continued expansion of the universal health insurance programme across all governorates, ensuring broader access to healthcare for all Egyptians. The government allocated 40.5 billion Egyptian pound to support productive sectors, focusing on industry and exports.
