Australia greenlights world's largest solar project

Australia approved the development of the world's largest solar and battery farm, the $24 billion SunCable project, set to become a global leader in green energy.
The project will be located in Australia's remote north and aims to power three million homes.
Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek hailed the approval as a major step towards establishing Australia as a green energy powerhouse.
The 12,000-hectare project will generate four gigawatts of energy per hour for domestic use and export an additional two gigawatts to Singapore via an undersea cable, covering about 15 per cent of the city-state's energy needs.
With energy production expected to commence in 2030, the project will include extensive solar panels, batteries with a 40-gigawatt storage capacity, and the infrastructure for international energy transmission.
