Big 5 Construct showcases Egypt's infrastructure transformation

Egypt's construction and infrastructure sectors are booming with new cities and mega projects, the sixth edition of Big 5 Construct Egypt and the 2nd edition of the Egypt Infrastructure & Water Expo highlight this transformation.
During the opening, speakers from the public and private sectors underscored the critical importance of advancing sustainable development while supporting the growth of Egypt's infrastructure to meet growing demands for new cities.
Panel speakers echoed the progress, with experts highlighting the New Administrative Capital (NAC) as a model for Egypt's connected, infrastructure-rich urban future.
New cities in Egypt are now more attractive to residents thanks to an action plan focused on improving education, government services, transport, employment, and financing options, said Amr Khattab, Infrastructure General Manager at the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, Minister's Technical Office.
Khattab added that 11.5 million people currently reside in these new cities in Egypt.
Tarek Hamed Gewaily, chairman of National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) stressed on the importance of modernising the transport infrastructure for economic growth and societal development.
The activities of the opening day witnessed wide international participation, by ambassadors from Greece, Cambodia, Malawi, Namibia, Uganda, Congo, and Ghana.
This year's edition, Big 5 Construct Egypt and Egypt Infrastructure & Water Expo brought together more than 300 exhibitors from around the world, with five international pavilions showcasing renowned companies from China, Greece, Germany, Italy and Turkey.
Big 5 Construct Egypt fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing between international and Egyptian companies, said Mehtap Gursoy, Portfolio Director, Construction at dmg events.
In addition to insightful dialogues, the events featured a diverse range of companies showcasing latest technology-enabled displays, live product demonstrations and innovative solutions that could revolutionise the design, building and delivery processes.
General Manager of Knauf Egypt Mohamed Abdel Rasoul said "Our participation in the Big 5 Construct Egypt exhibition comes from our belief in the importance of this event as an ideal platform to showcase our latest products and integrated solutions in the field of construction."
