The Egyptian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) has launched a free training initiative, "STEP Towards Export," to prepare project owners for the export market. The programme, which has already benefited numerous businesses in Alexandria and Port Said, is set to expand across several governorates. The initiative, a collaboration with the Foreign Trade Training Centre (FTTC), aims to equip entrepreneurs, particularly in the industrial and agricultural sectors, with the skills and knowledge to compete in both local and international markets, as stated by MSMEDA's CEO, Basel Rahmi on Sunday. The programme provides insights into the mechanisms, conditions, and standards of global exporting and offers guidance on product development. Rahmi also highlighted that MSMEDA is actively nominating businesses with distinctive products to participate in the training. Participants can apply at various SMEDA branches to benefit from the financing provided, enabling them to expand their projects, increase production, and meet export requirements. This initiative is part of MSMEDA's commitment to fostering co-operation with both local and international development partners, including the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), with whom they have an agreement. The programme represents a significant step towards strengthening Egypt's presence in the global market.
