Egyptian Media Syndicate with deep sorrow is following up the statements released by Director of Tahrir Channel, Waleed Hosni, to Al Shorouk newspaper last Wednesday, as he admitted that there is a black list for guests that are banned to appear on Tahrir channel.
Waleed Hosni commented on the accusations of making black lists for certain figures by the channel; saying "based on any satellite channel's rights, I can make a list for those who are against the national security". Meanwhile, he denied today these statements, which elaborates that the channel is suffering tensions on account of its unclear situations.
The syndicate affirms that this statement violates the media's ethics code that necessitates reviewing all opinions and views without control.
The channel was condemned by the syndicate for not signing a contract with Dina Abdel Fattah and the crew of "Al Shaab Yoreed" (People Want) talk show, as the channel admitted that there wasn't any contract signed with Dina Abdel Fattah, although she worked more than 9 months in the channel. So this violates the labor law and tax accounting.
The syndicate also denounced the torrent of accusations that the channel released in statement on Thursday against Dina Abdel Fattah. The channel's director, in the statement, elaborated that Dina Abdel Fattah has a list of names that she always insist on hosting them. In addition, she was accused of arousing the public opinion, as well as she works as an advisor for a number of former regime's figures.
The syndicate is asking Tahrir channel to stop its accusations without evidence, which may bring them under libeling cases. Furthermore, the syndicate confirmed that it keep all the rights adopted by law to protect the reputation of its members; especially if the member has credibility and keens on the ethics as the eminent media figure, Dina Abdel Fattah.
The Tahrir channel's administration has to commit to the media profession, the ethics code and impartiality, in addition to not imposing certain guests on the presenters and not to accuse the colleagues without any evidences.
Al Sayed Al Shazly, Head of the Egyptian Media Syndicate, called on Tahrir channel to apologize over the allegations released lately against Dina Abdel Fattah.
