Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 31 - 01 - 2013

Egypt's exports of fertilizers rose by 23% in December 2013, during which the domestic prices increased owing to the high demand; achieving EGP 839 million, compared to EGP 678 million in December 2011.
Reliable sources in the foreign trade sector asserted to "Amwal Al Ghad" that this exporting value increased Egypt's exports of fertilizers to EGP 7.3 billion in 2012, up 1%, while the exports in 2011 achieved EGP 7.2 billion.
The source added that by this export value of fertilizers, the Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council achieved EGP 28.6 billion in 2012, up 6%, compared to EGP 27 billion in 2011.
These exports gained EGP 9.4 billion from the European Union (EU), EGP 6 billion from the Arab countries, while the rest of the countries achieved varied export values.
For his part, Khaled Aboul Makarem, Deputy to Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council, told "Amwal Al Ghad" that the council is intensifying its promotional efforts in a number of exterior markets, through participating in the international conferences and sending promotional delegation. These efforts could achieve the exporting target, which is estimated with EGP 41.7 billion, according to the national plan for developing exports.
