Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 14 - 01 - 2013

The trade exchange volume between Egypt and the Arab countries from January to November 2012 reached EGP 67 billion, down 6% from the year before, which recorded as to EGP 71 billion, according to sources in the foreign trade sector to "Amwal Al Ghad".
The sources has pointed out that this value includes EGP 48 billion Egyptian exports to the Arab countries, declined EGP 3 billion from a year before; recording EGP 51 billion in 2011.
The Egyptian exports divided into building materials, chemical wares and engineering and electronic wares, followed by food industries and crops.
The sources added that the volume if the Egyptian imports from the Arab countries during the same period amounted to EGP 18 billion, EGP 2 billion down from a year before; recording EGP 20 billion.
The imports were chemicals and fertilizers with EGP 8 billion, food industries with EGP 2 billion, followed by other sectors with varied values.
Khaled Aboul Makarem, Deputy to Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council, for his part, told "Amwal Al Ghad" that the decline of the US and European demand on the Egyptian products during the last period, owing to the euro zone region and the US economy turmoil, compel Egypt to intensify its promotional campaigns in the Arab countries, so as to attract new demand on its products instead of the US and European demand.
