Egypt's trade balance deficit decreased by 49.6 percent in March to $1.96 billion, compared with $3.89 billion in the same month of 2022, the country's Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed on Thursday. The report attributed that decline to a 34.6 percent decrease in the value of Egypt's exports, which reached $3.75 billion during March, compared with $5.72 billion for the same month the previous year. This is due to the decline in the value of exports of some commodities, the most important of which natural and liquefied gas by 67.9 percent, fertilizer by 54 percent, ready-to-wear by 25.3 percent, and crude petroleum 50.5 percent.
