The Egyptian Holding Company for Silo and Storage Company (EHCSS), affiliated with the Ministry of Supply plans to implement new silos at an investment cost of up to $200 million, in collaboration with Samcrete Egypt and Elsewedy Electric. The Ministry of Supply launched a global tender to select a foreign company to join the previous alliance to transfer technology and create modern wheat silos storge, Rafqi Kamel, Samcrete's head of Business Development told Amwal Al Ghad on Tuesday. Kamel added the Ministry is currently distinguishing between three international companies to implement the project, with a view to reducing the loss of wheat storage. The Silos contribute to reducing the rate of loss and damage that was up to 15 percent, as about 35 new silos were created from 2014 to 2021 under the Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage. EHCC now contains 44 through 2021, instead of 9 before 2014, and the silos owned by the holding company for the food industry were developed with 21 silos to keep pace with modern storage technologies.
