Russian gas giant Gazprom has announced that exports outside former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) has plunged by 45.5 percent in 2022, its statement showed on Monday.
The exports outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has totaled 100.9 billion cubic metres compared to 185.1 billion cubic metres in 2021, the statement added.
Russian gas is now being supplied to Europe through one of the two entry points to the gas transmission system in Ukraine and through Türkiye, transported through the TurkStream and Blue Stream pipelines.
Gazproms has reported record declines in natural gas production for 2022 by 20 percent to 412.6 billion cubic metres, compared to that of the previous year standing at 514.8 billion cubic metres, its CEO Alexei Miller said.
Miller further added that the company has filled storage facilities to the record levels of about 72.662 billion cubic metres.
In addition, the supply from the gas transmission system to the domestic market, according to operating data, amounted to 243 billion cubic meters of gas last year.
Russian President Vladimir Putin last month inaugurated the Kovykta natural gas field in eastern Siberia, which will allow Russia to increase its exports to China.
