Japan announced on Saturday that it will provide support for African countries about $30 billion over the next three years, according to the eighth edition of Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD). Tokyo would work to ensure grain shipments to Africa among a global shortage, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, said. The support will include several areas such as; green growth, health, education, human resources, agriculture, and encouraging investment, especially for start-ups, Kishida added. He continued that Japan will adopt its own approach with a focus on human resources to achieve a resilient African society. Moreover, Japanese Foreign Minister has declared that Japan was granting Tunisia $100 million to help mitigate the impact of the pandemic, according to Tunisian news agency. The summit will attended by 100 Japanese businessmen, representing the 50 largest Japanese and international economic institutions, 100 African businessmen and 100 Tunisian businessmen. TICAD summit is a multilateral gathering of Japan, African countries, international organisations, private sector, and civil society engaging in Africa's development. TICAD had organised in collaboration with the United Nations, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the World Bank (WB).
