President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi said that the integration in Africa has been going on tangibly and that the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7 YOKOHAMA 2019) is essential to support African nations aspiration and development goals enhance joint efforts to reach these aims.
Al-Sisi was quoted by the Japanese Foreign Ministry posted on its official website on Monday praising the TICAD7 YOKOHAMA 2019 which will be held on August 28-30,2019 in Japan.
Furthermore, the president expressed his appreciation to the people and government of Japan for hosting the event and the organisers of this important meeting, particularly the African Union Commission (AUC), the World Bank (WB) and the UN Development Program(UNDP).
The TICAD has been, since its launch in 1993, one of the key forums of various partners in support for Africa and its development aspirations, the Al-Sisi said.
He added that the launch of the Africa Agenda 2063 and the Free Trade Zone in Africa are key milestones in African efforts to reach the aspired regional and economic integration in the continent.
The Egyptian leader voiced the belief that TICAD7 would continue to focus on Africa's needs and priorities and use points of strength of its partners.
TICAD7 is an international conference led by the Japanese government and co-sponsored by the UN, the UNDP, the AUC and the WB. The first TICAD7 conference took place in 1993.
