Dr.Khalifa :Funding Is Behind The Postponement Of Sewage's Station Project In Abu Rawash

Dr. Abd El Kawi Khalifa,The Minister of state for water and sewage facilities, confirmed that there is no technical problem to delay the start of working on Abu Rawash sanitation station where Egypt has the best technical expertise that can launch this station and in record time, pointing that the real problem is Funding. Dr.Khalifa added that the establishment can be in three cases First Funding of this station should be available in the state treasury which is not provided now during the hard economic conditions experienced by Egypt now. Saying it is not reasonable to ask country for EGP 3 billion of the sanitation station working as there are many other priorities, explaining that the second choice is to get a loan from banks with the government's guarantee, but its benefits will be high , which can not currently expectations for banks to refuse funding process.
Dr. Khalifa said the private sector is the main partner of the government in most countries where it ensures to run the largest amount of labor as well as mark tightly administration and control that resulting from the better business.
Further more, in another context the Minister explained the ministry's trend now to restructure system support so beggars commercial activity can not get the support which the ordinary citizen deserves it that its implementation will relay on regulatory system for drinking water , sanitation and customer protection, where he will be the first responsible in front of the citizen in case of any deficiency of the provided service. He also added that this device was already exists but it have not qualified in the formula that helped it to carry out its duties in order to serve the consumer as a result of limited staff and preoccupation with the available number the quality of water for citizens.
More over Dr.Khalifa also mentioned that this project will contribute for the provision of 1.2 million cubic meters per day ''Pretreatment'' increases to 1.6 million cubic meters ''Secondary Treatment'' to benefit from this water in irrigation of agricultural crops and production identity reached 600 million cubic meters per year which is equivalent to 1% from the value of Egypt's share from water.
