Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 13 - 02 - 2022

The fifth edition of the Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS 2022) will kick off on Monday under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and supported by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
Under the theme "North Africa and the Mediterranean: Delivering Energy Today", the event will be held at the Egypt International Exhibition Centre from February 14-16.
The three-day leading energy exhibition and conference in North Africa and the Mediterranean region is building on a year of strategic energy dialogue to map out the transition of the oil, gas, and energy industry towards sustainability.
The EGYPS 2022 exhibition will serve as a catalyst for investment and multi-sector cooperation across the oil and gas value chain. This year, a major showcase of the latest oil and gas solutions featuring more than 450 exhibitors, including Apache, BP, Chevron, Eni, Kuwait Energy, Shell, Total Energies, Wintershall DEA, Cheiron, Dragon Oil, ExxonMobil, Petronas and 25 NOCS and IOCS. This is in addition to international pavilions hosting world-class companies and products from leading energy countries including China, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Italy, Russia, and the UAE.
The conference will host 11 international energy ministers, 19 CEOs, and 8 secretary generals who will discuss long-term energy transition objectives in relation to regional energy markets' goals of self-sufficiency and sustainability in the short-term.
Energy ministers will take part in Ministerial Panels discussing these changing energy dynamics including Egypt's Petroleum Minister Tarek el-Molla; Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce, and Industry Natasa Pilides; Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Al Kharabsheh; Djibouti's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yonis Ali Guedi; Yemeni Minister of Oil and Minerals Abdul Salam Baaboud. The shift to net-zero is dependent on public and private sector collaboration and investment from oil and gas giants. To successfully harness a switch to net-zero, the public sector must engage with their private sector partners.
