BP, the London-based international oil company, started operating the Raven field of the third phase of the West Nile Delta development in Egypt. The $9 billion development includes five gas fields across the North Alexandria and West Mediterranean Deepwater offshore concession blocks, which are being developed by BP in three phases in collaboration with its partners and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum, according to a statement on Monday. Production at Raven, which currently stands at 600 million cubic feet of gas per day, comes after the commencement of output at fields in Giza and Fayoum in 2019 and fields of Taurus and Libra in 2017. Reven field has the capacity to produce 900 million cubic feet of gas per day as well as 30,000 barrels of condensates per day. The West Nile Delta (WND) project has 25 wells with a combined production from all three phases of 1.4 billion cubic feet of gas per day. BP has an operating stake of 82.75 percent in the development, while Wintershall Dea has the remaining 17.25 percent stake. To date, BP has invested more than $35 billion in Egypt.
