Dettol Egypt allocates EGP 1 mln for procuring medical masks to governmental hospitals
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 21 - 02 - 2021

Dettol Egypt said on Sunday it had allocated about 1 million Egyptian pounds ($63,935) for procuring thousands of medical masks to governmental hospitals in the country.
This came in the light of Dettol Egypt's keen interest in limiting the spread of the coronavirus pandemic during the second wave. The company seeks to resume its conscientious prevention endeavours via collaborating with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals (SCUH).
The donations are meant to enhance the designated hospitals' safety and prevention standards and to avail the necessary protection to the healthcare providers.
"Ever since the pandemic outbreak, Dettol Egypt has dedicated plentiful resources and initiated social services toward reinforcing the preventive measures taken by the governmental hospitals." Om Prakash, General Manager of Dettol Egypt, said.
Dettol provides 190,000 medical masks to healthcare providers in Egypt
"Our collaboration with the SCUH aims at protecting Egypt's White Army during the second wave of the Coronavirus. Accordingly, and out of our firm belief that they are the first line of defence for the Egyptian society during the pandemic, we have provided 190,000 medical masks designed to protect physicians, nurses and hospital support staff." Prakash added.
praised the eminent role played by the ministry in attempt to protect the Egyptian society from diseases.
On his part, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Secretary General of the Supreme Council University Hospitals and spokesperson for the Ministry of Egyptian Higher Education, said: "Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the (Egyptian) Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has spared no effort toward attaining the highest standards of prevention against this pandemic inside its teaching hospitals."
"Additionally, and in light of the Covid-19 second wave, we appreciate how Dettol Egypt have seen their initiative through, in order to provide protection for Egyptians against the coronavirus."
Dettol Egypt has taken upon itself to activate the infection control procedures in the ministry's facilities, by providing 12,000 litres of Dettol's disinfectant liquid, right after its products being scientifically proven effective against Covid-19.
The initiative aims to raise the efficiency of sterilisation and disinfection processes in 65 university hospitals and a number of universities and research centres for infection control in 19 governorates such as Alexandria, Port Said, Ismailia, Beni Suef, Minya, Damietta, and Beheira.
