Allianz Egypt, UNICEF join hands for the most vulnerable families
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 08 - 02 - 2021

Allianz Egypt celebrates on Monday the continuation of its fruitful partnership with the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) for the second year by launching the campaign "Our Children – Our Project".
This partnership dates back to 2019, when Allianz Egypt allocated 6.5 million Egyptian pounds ($415,125) to be spent over 3 years (2019-2022) with the aim of supporting UNICEF programmes.
"Allianz Egypt has donated over 2 million pounds in 2020 to promote social inclusion and to support vulnerable children in Egypt in cooperation with UNICEF; all in line with our continuous efforts to improve the situation of the most deprived families." said Ayman Hegazy, chairman of Allianz Group in Egypt.
"Working our way through the campaign (I Will Learn – I Deserve a Chance) that was launched last year, in support of UNICEF, followed by the campaign (Our Children – Our project) which was launched this year, Allianz Egypt is determined to devote all conceivable efforts towards supporting underprivileged families in Egypt."

"Over a period of 3 years Allianz Egypt continues to help in promoting changes needed to improve the access of families living in poverty to quality basic services and their inclusion in society," Hegazy added.
Since 2019, Allianz Egypt had already sold more than 217,000 life and car insurance policies. The donations go towards supporting UNICEF programmes around the social inclusion of vulnerable children and their families in Egypt.
Although 2021 kicks off with some undeniable uncertainty, Allianz Egypt said it remains positive and hopeful that our collective efforts can afford the entire society better prospects, especially focusing on children most in need.
For UNICEF's Representative, Jeremy Hopkins said: "this partnership with Allianz Egypt has been very successful thus far, enabling us to support to the Ministry of Social Solidarity with technical expertise in social protection, and produce several research products to better understand child poverty and child wellbeing in Egypt."

After only one year of partnership with Allianz Egypt, UNICEF was able to implement several studies, including: four rounds of Real Time Monitoring on the impact of COVID on family wellbeing, poverty analysis delivered to relevant government partners, and promoted policy dialogues and exchanges between national experts, senior government officials and international experts on issues related to youth employment and quality education, and support to poor families in times of stress.
Hopkins praised the results of the partnership with Allianz Egypt, adding that "this partnership with Allianz is exemplary on many fronts and I hope that it can inspire other private sector entities in Egypt."
"Allianz's support on social protection initiatives greatly contribute to UNICEF's approach of targeting the most vulnerable. This partnership paves the way for more private sector involvement in these areas and leaves a commendable impact on Egyptian society."
