China's CSCEC signs contract to design, execute 5 residential towers in Egypt's New Alamein

China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) has signed on Monday a design and execution contract to start construction of five residential towers in New Alamein on the Mediterranean coast.
CSCEC signed the contract with Egypt's New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), a government housing body.
Egyptian Housing Minister Assem El-Gazzar along with Egyptian Ambassador to China, Mohamed El Badry; Chinese Ambassdor to Cairo, Liao Liqiang; and Chinese Minister Plenipotentiary Xiao Junzheng have witnessed the signing of the contract through a videoconference.
The contract will see the design and execution of five fully-finished residential towers with services, overlooking an artificial lake, Minister El-Gazzar said in a statement.
The project includes an iconic 68-storey, 250-metre-high tower with a total surface area of 465,000 sqm, set to be developed over a timeframe of 45 months.
For the remaining four towers, they will be 200-metre-high each, or 56-storey, with a total surface area of 320,000 sqm, set to be developed over a timeframe of 39 months, and are similar to towers of the Central Business District at Egypt's new administrative capital.
The construction of the towers will be self-financed from NUCA's resources, with an agreement undertaken for CSCEC to pay their dues in local currency, the minister added.
China's Ambassador Liao Liqiang said the Egyptian government has made in recent years great efforts in urban development and the establishment of new cities.
