The Chemical Industries Export Council is studying the possibility participating in an exhibition for Egyptian industrial products proposed to be organised in South Sudan's capital, Juba, Khaled Abul Makarem, Chairperson of the Chemical Industries Export Council.
"The council is exerting great efforts to increase the chemical industries sector's exports during the coming period, by focusing on online marketing operations and holding bilateral meetings between Egyptian companies and their counterparts abroad," Abul Makarem said.
The Egyptian Embassy in South Sudan's capital, Juba, has sent a proposal to the Egypt Expo and Convention Authority (EECA) to organise an exhibition of Egyptian industrial products in the coming period.
Abul Makarem added that the exhibition will be accompanied by several promotional activities for Egyptian products. These activities will include many parties concerned with the African market.
He said that the EECA is currently coordinating with several agencies on procedures for holding the exhibition, as well as the content of its commodity structure.
Abul Makarem also said that the council's industrial sectors will participate in the exhibition, and will include: plastic products; rubber; paper products; cardboard; fertilizer products; pesticides; detergents; glass products; inks; paints; adhesives; and glue.
In the same context, he said that the council received a letter from the Sudanese Free Zones and Markets, to promote the activities of the 37th Khartoum International Fair. The exhibition is scheduled to take place during the period from 20-27 January 2021, and is keen for Egyptian companies to participate.
Abul Makarem said that the second session of the African Trade Fair 2021 will be held from 6-12 September in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, under the auspices of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
The bank's participation in the event is taking place in cooperation with the African Union (AU) and Rwanda.
Furthermore, a coordination meeting will be held in the next few days, to find out the recent developments relating to the AfCFTA agreement, as the agreement is scheduled for actual implementation in early 2021, Abul Makarem concluded.
