Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 09 - 09 - 2020

The Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS) is set to take place in May 2021 with over 500 exhibitors and 35,000 attendees expected.
Global industry experts mark their calendars for May 2021, for the 5th anniversary edition of the region's largest oil and gas exhibition and conference
During EGYPS 2021 virtual executive committee meeting, Egyptian Oil Minister Tarek el-Molla who is also the Chairman of EGYPS – said: ‘'Egypt, North Africa and the Mediterranean's leading oil and gas exhibition and conference, The Egypt Petroleum Show will take place from 31 May – 2 June 2021 at Egypt International Exhibition Centre (EIEC).''
‘'May/June 2021 strategically provides the opportunity for key international stakeholders to reconnect face-to-face in a safe show environment organised under the globally recognised framework and guidelines of the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) and the World Health Organisation (WHO)."
"The May/June dateline also offers safer planning for international travel and a more appropriate timeline to reconnect with a wider and larger network of existing stakeholders and to forge new face-to-face business relationships as the world looks to move on from the COVID-19 pandemic.''
Following its continued expansion and success achieved during the previous four editions, convening key industry players of the region and the world, the 2021 Show is expected to attract 35,000 attendees and over 500 exhibitors as well as 30 NOCs and IOCs in addition to the participation of global business leaders, Ministers, CEOs and industry experts of leading companies across the oil and gas sector.
The annual three-day Show is hosted under the theme of "North Africa & the Mediterranean: Delivering Energy Today" which highlights the regional industry growth roadmap and the accomplishment of becoming one of the largest producers of energy resources.
EGYPS 2021 will continue to contribute to the development of the industry, providing the platform to discuss current global challenges, promoting constructive partnerships and facilitating the exchange of technical expertise to innovate and create new opportunities to steer a sustainable energy future for the Eastern Mediterranean region and the world.
"The Egyptian government is looking at additional ways to encourage international investments in the oil and gas sector to achieve high growth rates and boost Egypt's global and regional position as the energy hub of choice." El Molla continued.
"Egypt, North Africa and the Mediterranean basin countries are witnessing a rising number of new discoveries, which emphases the necessity to achieve digital transformation at an accelerated pace and imposes the need for solid infrastructure and collaboration in different industries. Holding EGYPS 2021 in May next year is an opportunity to highlight the status of the oil and gas industry and work together in light of current global circumstances, and discuss the solutions and more importantly partnerships that will contribute to achieving progress in the industry".
Christopher Hudson, dmg events Global Energy President, said: " dmg events is pleased to be hosting the 5th anniversary edition of EGYPS in May 2021. The show is designed to proactively showcase the growing market needs for an important country and region as the originator of the East Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF)."
"The conference will drive the discussion on industry developments at a strategic bilateral level and focus on advanced technologies and investments driving energy transition and industry transformation."
The 2020 edition of EGYPS hosted in February earlier this year, witnessed the participation of 423 exhibiting companies and industry organisations. The Show attendees represented more than 80 countries that showcased their latest industry solutions in 14 international country pavilions that attracted 30,000+ attendees.
The success of EGYPS has gained the show magnanimous support from Egypt's President Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as well as the Egyptian government. It continues to remain the key meeting point for local, regional and international leading companies, international service providers as well as procurement, construction and engineering enterprises.
