Egypt's Orascom Construction on track to execute 50 projects
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 01 - 09 - 2020

Egypt's Orascom Construction is in process to implement 50 projects in the local market, said its chief executive Osama Bishai on Tuesday.
The company is currently operating in the Egyptian market at 95 percent-100 percent capacity, Bishai added.
The works include monorail project and Bahr El-Baqar wastewater treatment plant, east of the Suez Canal, he said.
As for the monorail project, it will connect the new administrative capital city with Eastern Cairo, at a cost ranging between $530 million and $540 million.
The 52 km (32 miles) project connects Cairo Stadium metro station in Nasr City to the country's new capital and New Cairo. The project is a fuel-saving that is set to contribute to accelerating the development of the new capital.
The project will have 22 terminals and 27 trains, which is expected to transport 24,000 passengers at speeds of up to 80 km per hour.
In 2018, Egypt signed with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development two deals worth 2.28 billion pounds for projects in Bahr El-Baqar and South Sinai governorate.
The deals include funds to support the establishment of water system for a drain in Bahr El-Baqar to treat sewage and agricultural wastewater worth 1.4 billion pounds.
The 106km drain of Bahr El-Baqar starts from Dakahlia to Sharqia governorates, Ismailia to the last governorate of Port Said; the longest part locates in Sharqia.
