Sabic To Host Key Technology Summit

Global petrocemical giant Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) will host its tenth technical and innovation summit in Jubail starting from tomorrow (November 11) till November 14 under the theme, “Technology and Innovation."
The Sabic Technical and Innovation Meeting (STIM) is being held under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thenayan Al-Saud, Chairman of SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.
It was earlier known as STM (Sabic technical meeting. The name change highlights the importance that Sabic attaches to the concept of innovation as a tool for turning ideas into profitable products, services, technical and business processes.
The biennial event, which will be inaugurated by Prince Saud, will be attended by Mohamed Al-Mady, Sabic VC and CEO, top Sabic executives, heads of local and global manufacturing companies, and noted scientists and researchers.
In all, around 600 technology and manufacturing experts are expected to participate in the meeting. The event will offer an ideal opportunity for industry leaders to present their latest technologies, business solutions and services to a global audience fully centered on collaboration and innovation.
Sabic affiliates and the company's local and global research and technology centers will present papers focussing on innovation.
Its representatives will highlight the company's growing capabilities to create practical innovation for its products and processes.
Prince Saud will present awards to the winners of the Best Work Paper and the Sabic Innovation Awards, which have been instituted by the company to encourage corporate innovators.
STIM-10 reflects the company's efforts to deliver innovative solutions and advance its overall ‘culture of innovation'. It further demonstrates the company's collaborative approach toward global research professionals by providing them a unique platform to showcase their innovation plans and share their successes.
It further provides an opportunity for Sabic teams to network with global research professionals.
Workshops will be conducted throughout the four days of the event. Besides innovation, work papers will focus on education and training, petroleum and minerals resources, chemicals, health and safety, environment, transportation and shipping, agriculture and water, industry and electricity, construction, communications, and natural resources.
An exhibition will be held as an adjunct to the meeting, where about 200 exhibitors from 22 countries are expected to participate.
A variety of sectors will be covered including asset management, electrical and control systems, fertilizers and chemicals, construction, safety, health and environment, quality assurance, analytical research, and automation.
