TV announcer to face trial for killing wife
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 22 - 07 - 2010

The Attorney General on Wednesday referred television announcer Ehab Salah Saeed, 45, to a criminal court on charges of murdering his wife.
Explaining the crime, the Attorney General noted that, when Saeed had returned home from work, he found his wife sitting with her sister and nephews. An argument reportedly broke out between the suspect and his wife, after which he allegedly shot her.
Investigators that visited the crime scene say the victim suffered injuries to her head. According to forensic experts, the victim was shot in the head, causing damage to both the skull and brain.
A forensic report also noted that the victim's body bore scratches on the face and hands, suggesting that she had attempted to resist the attack. The report went on to assert that the victim had been shot at close range.
Forensic investigators also say that the suspect had been on drugs at the time of the incident.
Saeed reportedly confessed to prosecutors that he had argued with his wife, who, he said, had insulted members of his family.
Prosecutors have questioned the victim's sister, who recounted that Saeed had asked her to prepare him a drink shortly before the murder. When she returned to the room, she found her badly injured sister on the verge of death.
Prosecutors also listened to testimony by the chief inspector of Cairo's Haram district, who said that Saeed had divorced his wife two times before the incident. The chief inspector went on to assert that the murder had been intentional.
The incident was discovered by authorities after Saeed called police and confessed to murdering his wife.
