As protests continued in Qena, demanding the replacement of a Christian governor with another who is Muslim, hundreds of residents from the village of Abu Tisht blocked railways in the village despite efforts by tribal leaders to bring the protests to an end. Meanwhile, Ahmed Omran, a representative of Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, Assistant Governor Maged Abdel Karim and Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim, commander of the military in Qena, congratulated Qena Bishop Sharobim on Easter Sunday, and told him Sharaf would visit the city soon.
