Five ships carrying 1394 Egyptians arrived Tuesday to Alexandria Port coming from the Libyan capital Tripoli. Navigation sources at Alexandria Port said the port has received two frigates and a ship, all of which belong to the German navy, carrying 412 Egyptians. Another two Egyptian ships carrying 982 Egyptians have also arrived. Returnees were received by top officials from the navy and the head of the Alexandria Port Authority. Returnees were transported by buses to their governorates. More than 100,000 Egyptians have fled the violence in Libya. British, French and American flights as well as Turkish ships have helped to evacuate Egyptians who fled Libya since protests calling for the ouster of Libyan leader Muammar Qadhafi erupted on 17 February. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced the killing of six Egyptians in Libya. Egypt has the biggest foreign community in Libya, with around 1.5 million of its citizens working in the country.
