Source: MB Coordinates with Jewish Movements in Gaza Demonstrations
Published in Almasry Alyoum on 01 - 02 - 2009

There has been coordination between the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and a number of Europe-based Jewish organizations, especially in London, during the Israeli aggression on Gaza, former spokesman for the MB international organization in Europe Kamal al-Halbawi said.
The coordination aimed to stage anti-Israel demonstrations in protest against the massacres the Jewish state committed in Gaza.

speaking on the phone from London to Al-Masry Al-Youm, al-Halbawi said the MB coordinated with Jewish organizations known as the peace groups, including the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) and the Jewish anti-Zionist Network, to denounce the Israeli massacres.
The two Jewish groups have agreed to coordinate with the MB in joint demonstrations in London.

The idea of coordination at the level of international organizations has been replaced by consultations under the cover of "relief societies" without raising the banner of the international organization, al-Halbawi added.
The MB has committees for coordination in support of the Palestinian Cause. The coordination was through the MB means rather than meetings with representatives of the delegations that participated in the demonstration, he said. He explained this was due to the fact that the Israeli war was sudden and rapid and, therefore, there were no consultations.
The MB coordinated with all groups that rejected and denounced the war as long as there was no contradiction between the goals of those organizations, including Jewish groups rejecting the aggression against the Gaza Strip, he affirmed.
The MB has supported the Palestinian resistance and people with all means taking advantage of the media, which played a real role in coordinating MB activities in the Islamic countries.

With regard to street demonstrations, al-Halbawi said the MB planned and led most demonstrations across the world thanks to its significant presence in 80 countries.

The MB prepared these demonstrations and made great efforts to get permits to stage them in some countries.
He praised the role of the MB in mobilizing people in the Arab World and Europe through regular daily demonstrations to condemn the Israeli massacres, as evidenced by the demonstrations staged by the MB before the Egyptian and Israeli embassies in London,
The MB benefited from the media, satellite channels and newspapers so that demonstrators in two different demonstrations, in London and Cairo for example, could chant the same slogans. This confirms that there was coordination, but not through consultative meetings, he said
