The Ministry of Investment's Holding Company for Food Industries has announced new reductions in the prices of food commodities for the fourth time in two months at the coops of Greater Cairo and the provinces. Reductions included vegetable oils, margarine, butter, fine flour, imported and local poultry, frozen meat and fish, while the price of sugar was stabilized at LE 275 per kilo.
Oil prices fell from 6 to 5 pounds for the consumer and from 75 to 64.75 pounds for the retailer. Margarine prices fell from 80 to 72 pounds for the retailer and from 20 to 18 pounds for the consumer. Flour prices fell from 2.75 to 2.25 pounds per kilo, poultry from 15.50 to 14 per kilo, fish from 13 to 11.50 per kilo and frozen meat from 20 to 18 pounds per kilo.
