Ambassadors, human rights activists and political analysts have accused Israel of committing war crimes in Gaza, calling for popular trial to condemn such crimes they considered as "genocides" against the Gazans. The Israeli war is not against Hamas, but against Egypt to weaken its strength in the region. Iran, Syria and Qatar urged Hamas to violate the truce with Tel Aviv so that the latter would attack Gaza to put Egypt in this deadlock, they said.
The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip does not target Hamas – as Israel alleges – but it is an Iranian-Syrian-Qatari war that started from Tehran and Damascus and participated in by Doha through "Al-Jazeera" satellite channel. They pushed Hamas to the war to weaken Egypt's role on the basis of Iran's desire to control the Middle East, Palestinian writer and analyst Samir Ghatas said during the conference held by the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs on Monday to discuss the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The Israel aggression aims to restore the deterrence, close the file of the 2006 war on Lebanon, ensure safety for southern Israel from Hamas rockets, and send security forces to protect the crossings so that Hamas could not be armed once again. In addition, Tel Aviv aims to destroy some 1200 tunnels in the war-torn Gaza Strip. Israel has already managed to destroy some 300 tunnels.
There should be a popular trial as soon as possible to bring Israeli leaders responsible for the war against Gaza to account on charges of committing war crimes and genocide against the Gazans, former judge at the International Court of Justice in The Hague Fouad Abdel Moneim Riadh said. Such trials are tantamount to a witness and document proving these incidents even if hundreds of years have been elapsed, Riadh said, confirming that the sentences issued by such trials have not been nullified by the passage of time. Although they are not put into action on the ground, such charges remain attached to those criminals throughout their lives and even after their death.
For his part, member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs Hassan Issa said the Israeli war does not aim to exterminate Hamas, but, on the contrary, it wants to let Hamas in the Gaza Strip to separate Gaza and the West Bank, especially as Gaza has no religious significance for Israel that only wants to protect its southern from Hamas rockets.
