Published in Almasry Alyoum on 07 - 01 - 2009

The number of Palestinians who died in Egypt's hospitals has increased to ten since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Eighteen wounded Palestinians have reached Mubarak-Arish Hospital. The injured, including children, suffered amputations, coma and splinters in their bodies, Ministry of Health Undersecretary in North Sinai Tareq el-Mehalawi said.

"The Ministry of Health's medical team headed by Dr. Ayman el-Hadi provided the injured with prompt treatment and allowed six of them to receive medical treatment in Saudi Arabia.
They were transported by Saudi medical aircraft stationed in Arish Airport. In addition, four injured have been allowed to travel to Libya for treatment.
The rest patients have been referred to Egyptian hospitals. The injured in Arish Hospital are referred to Cairo hospitals for treatment on a daily basis so that Arish hospital could receive more injured."

Medical sources said Palestinian injured Shukri Mahmoud Moussa, 31, who arrived to Egypt last December 30, escaped from Nasser Institute Hospital. Moussa, who suffers from a separation of the retina, asked the physician treating him to allow him to see a friend for half an hour, but he then escaped.

At the level of humanitarian aid, six Qatari trucks carrying medicines and dairy, in addition to 17 Saudi trucks crossed Rafah crossing yesterday.
The total aid received by the Egyptian Auja Port reached 831 tons during the past three days.
