A clash with hands erupted two days ago in the People's Assembly between parliamentarians from the ruling National Democratic Party and opposition members. Parliament has just opened its new round a few days ago. MPs Talaat Motawei and Ahmed Abu Aqrab from NDP clashed with hands with nonpartisan MP Saad Aboud. Speaking to al-Masry al-Youm, Aboud said he was talking to representatives of the Housing Ministry when he found Dr. Mufied Shihab in front of him, ordering him not to interrupt him anymore and to stop shouting. He said that he answered him that such talk is improper from a minister to a parliamentarian, but Dr. Shihab ordered him back to his seat and not to speak. Aboud said he was then surprised by two NDP deputies pushing him away from the ministers' seat in an improper way that does not fit MPs. Then Parliamentarian Mustafa Bakri mediated, embraced Aboud and helped him return to his seat to protect him from the angry NDP deputies who gathered around him, pushing him or advising him to keep away from Shihab. The quarrel erupted during the general session which debated Egypt's stance on the Gaza siege. MPs of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) parliamentary bloc and nonpartisan members exchanged harsh words with the NDP members during debating a request submitted by 21 members to discuss the security forces' ban of aid convoys to the Gaza Strip.
