Minister of Trade and Industry Rashid Mohamed Rashid sent a message on behalf of the government to all businessmen, calling on them not to be weak in facing pressures resulting from the world financial crisis. He called on them to be more insistent on production and investment in Egypt. During the inauguration of a crystal plant in Shubra el-Khaimah, he said the government introduced incentives to exporters and producers to develop industry, pointing out that the policies of this year are based on giving the appropriations to governorates instead of industrial cities to expand industrial zones and create new job opportunities for the youth.
Rashid denied that the industrial developers bought lands and kept them till their prices skyrocketed, stressing that there are guarantees for selling those plots of lands at the same prices the government would sell them to investors.
He said that the project of the developers is among the important projects the government started to implement in cooperation with the private sector to provide more plots of land for industrial investment without shouldering the State Budget any new burdens.
