The Muslim World League (MWL) Secretary General Abdullah Bin Abdel Mohsen Al-Turkey said the league would organize an international conference on fatwa (religious edict) and means and ways of facing the chaos of issuing fatwas. The conference will be held next January in Mecca. It is sponsored by King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Seoud. In a press statement two days ago, Al-Turkey said the conference would be participated by a big number of muftis in the Muslim world. The conference would discuss a number of fatwa-related issues as well as means and ways of combating strange fatwas and the possibility of establishing reliable sources of fatwas. With regard to the possibility of the league's ability to launch a satellite channel, Al-Turkey said: "Hundreds or even thousands of satellite channels are launched today from the Arab countries. Unfortunately, they are not influential, as they do not pay attention to the nation's issues except for a few of them. However, the league still studies launching a satellite channel."
