Reactions of criticisms continued against the intervention of Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of State for Higher Education and Scientific Research, of concealing the State award in advanced and basic science and withholding it from Hani al-Nazer, President of the National Center for Research, confirming that the incident was the first of its kind in the history of scientific awards. Al-Masry Al-Youm learned that a number of donor members of the Higher Committee for State Awards of the Scientific Research Academy, decided to meet on Sunday to discuss the intervention of the Minister and the Council of the Academy Award in withholding the prize from al-Nazer, and the sources expected that the meeting would shed light on why the members of the Committee resorted to collective resignation from the Commission. "Dr. Attia Ashour, Chairman of the Committee, said he was sick the time of the vote on the award, and declined to talk about the matter. For his part, Dr. Ali Habish, the deputy of scientists, and former President of the Academy of Scientific Research, viewed what happened on the part of the Council of the Academy Award of withholding the prize from Nazer as an 'abuse' of the Egyptian scientific community at large. He said that throughout his tenure as chairman of the Academy there has never been such an incident, pointing out that the resolution belongs to the Commission and not Council of the Academy, saying only that the Council's role is to confirm. Habish added that he could not move on behalf of the Association on the subject, because Nazer is not a member. On the other hand, Dr. Meghawri Diab, President of the Monoufia Teaching University Club, said the Teacher Education Clubs postponed its meetings to request raises until the post-exam results.
