Informed political sources said that the General Committee of the Shura Council will hold a meeting this morning to approve the appointment of the chairmen of the boards of the state-owned newspapers. They said Dr. Abdel Moneim Said will replace Morsi Atallah as chairman of the board of Al-Ahram, and Ali Hashem will replace Mohamed Aboul Hadid as chairman of the board of Dar Al-Tahrir. Dr. Abdel-Moneim Said is currently the head of Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies. He is a renowned professor of international relations and a distinguished writer for several Egyptian, Arab and foreign newspapers, including Al-Masry Al-Youm, for which he writes a weekly column.
On the other hand, the Commission has annexed Al-Ra'y newspaper to Dar Al-Tahrir to be a regional paper that covers news on the capital. It will also annex an evening newspaper to Akhbar Al-Youm and an agricultural magazine to Al-Ahram.
