Cairo - Egypt officially received its second attack submarine from Germany in a ceremony held in Keil city. Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Navy Rear Admiral Ahmed Khaled and a number of Egyptian military leaders attended the ceremony, where the submarine was announced Egyptian. Admiral Khaled signed a cooperation protocol with German multi international conglomerate "thyssenkrupp." The German-based company provides marine systems, shipbuilding, services along with plant technologies, elevator systems. The German-made "Type 209" submarine will consecutively join the Egyptian navy; it is armed with torpedoes for securing Egyptian coasts and regional waters and preserving national security.
