Cairo – A number of female attendees at "Egypt Can" conference, held in Cairo between July 2 and 3, expressed resentment at the dominance of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group and Takfiris over mosques abroad. The attendees made their remarks during their meeting with Osama Al-Abd, head of parliament's religious affairs committee, on Wednesday. Yousria Salem, an Egyptian-American who lives in the United States of America, said that MB group controls and dominates mosques and tarnishes Egypt's image abroad. Both Sahar Ramzi, an Egyptian who lives in the Netherlands, and Afaf Abdo Rabo, who lives in the United Kingdom, denounced such dominance of MB members and Takfiris over the mosques, urging Egypt's Al-Azhar to send scholars to spread moderate Islam abroad. Al-Abd said the committee will take these recommendations into consideration and will not allow any extremists or radical people to tarnish the image of Islam. The conference mainly aimed to brief expatriate Egyptian scientists and experts on issues of their homeland.
